The need to explore new forms of choreographic composition is the point of departure in this creation by Metamorphosis Dance, Elkarrizketa Ilunak (Conversations in the Dark). Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich present a piece made up by very well-defined sections and a character of its own. Each section comes from a specific inspiration, which affects the dance style as well as the physicality, music, lighting, and its very own choreographic construction.
What happens when two people converse in the dark? When the situation or the context of the communication changes, the message seems to be affected; it is no longer received in the same manner. The company wants to deal with communication itself in this performance, i.e. on a physical and bodily level, with the dynamic actions and reactions ensuing from conflict, love, and worry. The choreographic inspiration departs here from the possibility or impossibility to communicate.
