The National Dance Company, under the artistic leadership of José Carlos Martínez, premiered this piece by Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich in 2018 in Madrid.

In Chinese culture the jiang shi are the bodies who have come back to life, known in the west as ghosts. Taking these figures as inspiration, the choreographic tandem has explored what is sensed, yet, never seen.

From the mysterious music, Lachrimae, by André de Ridder and Bryce Dessner, comes an abstract bubble, wherefrom it is impossible to cling onto the laws of time and space. The artists invite the spectator to sit, free to explore a world full of absurd sensations and impressions, where one dream alleviates the next. In this extravagant universe, you only have to let yourself go, fly, or balance between the realms of reality and fantasy.
