“Moto perpetuo” is the first work by Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich created for the Ballett am Rhein. In it, the persistent and unceasing process of the passage of time is made visible in a constantly moving interaction of space, movement, light and music.
Inspired by the monumental sculptures of the American artist Richard Serra (1938-2024) and the repetitive, but also dynamic music of Philip Glass, two initially hermetically sealed worlds emerge which, through the urges of an individual, begin to join, connecting the individual and the group, and to disperse and separate again.
