The Metamorphosis Method was brought about from the experience of its two architects, Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich, who have shaped a work methodology from the need to create their own tools to satisfy their curiosity and concerns.
The chance to work together with dancers from a great range of different cultures and nationalities has been very useful to test the true potential of a personal method years of devoted study in the making.
The methodology’s emphasis is on very physical work, which brings about a
technical level of the highest order from the dancers, as well as encourages them to
enhance their versality. In addition, the methodology is also a philosophy, which
requires intellectual and emotional commitment. In this manner, the physical abilities
are transformed into a vehicle to express feelings and ideas, becoming thus a crisp
and efficient means of communication with the spectator.
In turn, these enriching experiences, and the proven efficiency of their method, have
helped Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich feel more prepared to found their own
company, where their choreographies are created fully embracing these principles.
Thanks to this holistic training, the dancers who stage the choreographic material of
the company thus rely on the proper tools to bring out their versatility.
